The flue gases coming out of the boiler contains dust particle’s embedded in it. The pollution control board of a particular area has a limitation on the concentration of dust particles in the gases which are to be release from boiler to the atmosphere. In order to minimize this dust content from the flue gases Dust collector is being used.
The dust collector works on the centrifugal action.
The dust gas stream from the boiler enters at an angle in the outer pipe and is spun rapidly downwards causing the centrifugal action to take place.
From the lower cone, the speed of the gases increases and dust particles being heavier are collected at the bottom of the dust collector.
The gases from the bottom turn and travel through an inner pipe in the upward direction and are then released out.
