Hydro Turbines Francis
GLOBAL Hydro offers Francis turbines as spiral or shaft turbines. The position of the turbines or the generator shaft is designed horizontally or vertically as required. The most common version is the spiral turbine with the horizontal impeller coupled directly to the generator. The advantages of this design are that the costs of manufacture and maintenance are reduced. The compact design reduces the installation dimensions in the powerhouse and thus the total volume of a construction project. In addition, GLOBAL Hydro has a patent for the self-resetting of the guide vanes after removing a foreign body.
Francis turbines are the most common type of turbine today because they are the most versatile and flexible
Francis turbines are used for medium head and flow rates
GLOBAL Hydro Francis turbines have been produced not only with water from rivers or reservoirs, but also with drinking water, waste water or, more recently, crude oil
The impeller diameter is up to 2,000 mm
