Having worked consistently since leaving school, I decided in 2015 to return to Higher Education (while still in full time employment) to get a degree in a discipline I would find both stimulating and challenging. Specialising in Facilities Management in my fourth year I discovered a desire to pursue a career in this area. I spent a lot of time researching and writing my final dissertation on ‘Facilities Management of Combined Heat and Power systems within Educational Establishments’ during which time I interviewed many senior Facilities Managers and through so doing realised that this would be an interesting career to pursue. I have many of the necessary skills and attributes of a successful FM, reliability, excellent time-keeping, in depth knowledge of certain areas of construction management and I would be keen to continue to learn and broaden my skill set in any new working environment.
