Horizontal Wind Turbine
A horizontal wind turbine is a type of wind turbine in which the axis of rotation of the rotor is parallel to the ground. This is in contrast to a vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT), where the axis of rotation is perpendicular to the ground. Horizontal-axis wind turbines are the most commonly used type of wind turbine and are characterized by their familiar, three-bladed design. They can be further classified into two types: upwind and downwind turbines, depending on the direction of the wind in relation to the rotor. Horizontal-axis wind turbines are typically larger than vertical-axis wind turbines and are used in wind farms and utility-scale wind energy systems. At Linquip you can find the verified list of horizontal wind turbine manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers which helps you to find the best solution for your needs.
